Terms & Conditions
Last updated: March 22, 2026
By using Crystl ("the Software") or the crystl.dev website ("the Site"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Software or Site.
License
Crystl is licensed software, not sold. When you purchase a license, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Crystl on up to 3 personal devices. Each license is tied to one user. You may not redistribute, sublicense, or share your license key.
Free tier
Crystl offers a free tier with core features (limited gems and shards). The free tier is available indefinitely — no time limit, no credit card required. The paid Guild tier unlocks unlimited gems, unlimited shards, and additional features.
Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe. All prices are listed in USD. Guild memberships are billed as auto-renewing yearly subscriptions. You can cancel at any time from Stripe's customer portal — your access continues until the end of the billing period. If you're unhappy with Crystl, contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.
Updates
Your Guild membership includes all updates released during your active subscription. If your subscription lapses, you may continue using your current version but will not receive new updates until you resubscribe.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
- Use the Software for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to circumvent license validation
Your data
Crystl runs locally on your Mac. Your terminal sessions, code, and AI conversations are stored on your machine and are not transmitted to us. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data we do collect.
Availability
We aim to keep the website and license services available at all times, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The Software itself runs locally and does not depend on our servers to function (except for initial license activation).
Disclaimer
Crystl is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free or meet your specific requirements. Use of AI coding tools carries inherent risks — always review generated code before deploying it.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crystl and its creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Software or Site. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license in the 12 months prior to the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Software or Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Open source
Crystl uses open source software. See our open source acknowledgments for a full list of third-party libraries and their licenses.
